Try iT! Glass classes
Just Try-iT! These are beginner glass class sessions intended to introduce a glass-working approach.
You will learn basic techniques specific to that approach and the type of glass used with hands-on practice time to get comfortable working with glass and open your eyes to the creative potential of glass!
Each class highlights different elements, techniques from each one contribute to a better understanding - and may be applied - to a wide expanse of glass craft techniques. All 3-hour Try-iT sessions are $95 per person.
Intermediate glass classes
Instructed by studio artists, teachers and visiting artists. These workshops will facilitate an opportunity for students to focus on a specific technique through personalized instruction and core projects.
Participants are required to have previous experience with glass or participated in a Try-iT session.
Intermediate glassworking classes are typically half-day or full-day - including lunch - workshops and vary in cost based on materials and instruction needed.
Advanded glass classes
Formatted as multi-week courses, advanced classes are intended to dive deep into the science and techniques of a glass-work approach. Participants will expand on a single focused project over the course of the series or create multiple projects each week.
Participants are required to have previous experience with glass or participated in a Try-iT and Intermediate session. Annually offer a special master class with local or visiting artists at the top of their field reveal their secrets.
Open Kiln / Torch
Now three times a month, we offer open studio sessions for folks who want to practice their craft whether working the flame or exploring the potential of kilnwork. All four-hour sessions are only $35. Register online to join us at the shop to show off your stuff, get inexpensive practice or just commune with your fellow craftsmen and women.
Torchers need only provide glass and specific project supplies (i.e, mandrels, bead release). Torch, safety glasses and student tool set provided. Glass, mandrels, bead release and tools may be purchased at the studio

Scheduling for group classes is subject to studio space availability. Torchwork classes have a maximum capacity of 10, while up to 20 may be accommodated in a Kiln class. Please plan to schedule your class at least 30 days in advance for best availability.

Customize your glass experience. With over 20 years of experience in glass, there are many techniques and projects Malcom can prepare you for and guide you through. From designing and producing your own tiles and lighting in the kiln to techniques on the torch Malcom has experience that only a select few can match.

How old do you have to be to take one of your glass classes?
Students ages 9 - 13 must be companies by a parent or guardian.
Parent or guardian must also purchase a seat for our glass class.
Students ages 9-17 may attend our glass classes alone with signed permission.
Do I need to bring any equipment with me to glass class?
All tools and safety equipment are provided during our glassblowing lesson.
What type of clothing should I wear for my glass class?
We recommend all our students wear non synthetic clothing such as cotton and closed toe shoes.
How often do you have glass classes?
We have a few glass classes a month as well as open torch sessions to practice your skills, and mingle with others following their passions for playing with glass.
Do you have glass class gift certificates?
We do have glass class gift certificates. These gift certificated may be purchased in our online store, or in our studio.
What are the maximum amound of students for your torch working classes?
We have enough torches to accomodate 8 students per class.
What happens if I cannot make it to my scheduled class?
All classes may be rescheduled within 7 days of class start time.
All classes seats rescheduled with less than 7 day notice are subject to a $35 reschedule fee or forfeit.
Do I need to sign a waiver for your glass class?
Yes, every student will have to sign a liability waiver prior to the start of class.
What kind of torches do you use in your glass classes?
Bethlemem Alpha burners.
Our workhorse burners for our soft and borosilicate glass classes are the Bethlemem alpha torches. These torches are great for soft glass and pack enough punch to get borosilicate glass flowing.
Do you sell starter kits if I want to do glassworking at home?
If you have caught the glass bug, and want to start manipulating glass outside of the studio we've got you covered. We have brand new dglassblowing starter kits with almost everything you need to get started, minus tanks and glass.
These kits can be puchased in our online shop or in our studio.
We also carry used equipment which tends to come in and out the door fairly quickly so make sure to check out what is currently available online.
Will I get to take my glass objects home with me?
Depends on the type of glass class, but assume that you will have to pick up your glass objects at a later date.
